On the issue of school uniforms, check out my article on why schools should be paying their students to look neat and tidy:

Why should it be free?

What?! No more ties?! HOORAY! As to what Rich wrote: "<i>if you have a tie business, job #1 should be deciding what you’ll be doing when that date comes around..</i>" I guess the answer to that is: if you're wearing a tie, don't answer the door. If you aren't, answer the door, invite your date in and compliment her on her lack of a dress. Hey, no tie, no dress.

I wonder if schools will follow this...and if we'll lose the school uniform in SA?

Man, this is a topic extremely close to my heart, I just never though to ask the question this way, awesome. I believe that everything has a sell-by date, the trick, like with milk, is to work out what that date is before you get the sour stuff.

Having said that, working out that date is only a small part of the problem (that's why I hate that old Sasol ad) if you have a tie business, job #1 should be deciding what you'll be doing when that date comes around.

If you see this as a spectator sport, you lose..!
