Do you give Neil Watson a mandate to expose violent crime in South Africa to the international community via the web?
Total Votes: 1531
Yes: 1519 | No: 12

Poll B
Do you give Neil Watson a mandate to prepare a class action against the state on behalf of the families of murdered victims?
Total Votes: 838
Yes: 837 | No: 01

POLL C
South Africans, do you personally know of somebody who has been raped, robbed, hijacked and/or murdered?
Total Votes: 123
Yes: 121 | No: 02

Nice, I like the challenge given to Neil for a public conversation. Any progress with that?

But do you notice that he doesn't actually publish the results of the poll ...
So even after spending my R3 ... i have no idea whether my vote counts or not.
Not that I anticipate voting on any of his polls ... unless it was

“Do you give Neil Watson a mandate to shut down this ridiculous site?" In which case I would vote yes ...

I just feel sorry for those poor people who have voted though. It's like the people who forward round those chain emails where Microsoft promises to send you $1000 for their "beta email trail" ... or something equally as unlikely.

Spot on Mike. It's a conversation we've had a couple of times after seeing his site the first time and seeing the various sms options and offerings for advertising space on the initial (pre-drupal) site.

"Do you give Neil Watson a mandate to expose violent crime in South Africa to the international community via the web?

SMS "CRIME" (space) "A" (space) "YES" or "NO" to 35999

SMS charged at R3" - Screwed if you do, screwed if you don't...

And that's one of a couple of simultaneous polls he's running. Sorry, I cannot for one second imagine that he can think what he's doing is having a positive effect on the country.

Hi Mike ... I too have viewed with horror the website your refer to. I even went so far as to email my thoughts to Neil. Needless to say, the letter hasn't been published on his website.
I'm delighted to hear that other sites have sprung up as a result - ones which truely value democracy and truth!
