Webcam

Does anyone have a recommendation for a webcam which will sit nicely on top of a laptop screen? Karin asked me if I have any recommendations and instead of listening to what she was saying I started thinking about the built-in iSight on my MacBook Pro, so I wonder if any readers with longer attention spans have some specific hardware they’d recommend?

My Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks is just awesome. the clip for the screen works perfectly.

Doesn’t look like they make mine anymore but there’s plenty of newer versions here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/ZA/EN,crid=2203

Thanks Scott, I’ve always thought that Logitech make good webcams as they’re the most widely used. The Quickcam looks pretty cool.

Check with Nufsed (Barrie) – he’s got a pretty cool one, too.

Yesterday Karin bought a Logitech webcam (on your recommendation, Scott!) which is working really well (so should Scott get commission?!). Of course, she first headed to Incredible Connection and the guy recommended one, but the price was a bit steep. She asked, “Will I get it cheaper at Stax?” (haha) and he didn’t seem to think so. She did – by almost 50% (which is why Incredible is so fondly referred to by many of us as “Incredible Corruption”). Here’s a pic:

Gen Y are not a pushover

Miranda Devine is a Sydney Morning Herald columnist, and recently wrote an excellent piece on Australia’s Gen Y (young people now in the teens and early 20s). She had just witnessed a group of 400 of them grilling Kevin Rudd, the Aussie PM – and they had given him a rough time.
